I am fortunate and have a part time job at a group home where I have little to do during an eight hour shift. I can work on stitching projects, read or bring things from my home to do. I have made many things while at work when I otherwise wouldn't have time to stitch. Just the other night I stitched this little table mat from a free pattern I found online.

I have a passion for making things with wool.  Seems I always have a few projects going.  Here is a table mat I recently made from a Primitive Gatherings pattern.  I love how well the colors all blend together.

I just finished this little table topper and 4 coasters.  I really like the way this turned out and it was so easy that I'm going to make a few of these for Christmas Gifts.  I used a quilt pattern from Cotton Way called Abundantly Blessed  that I modified .  As you can see, it is made with the 'raggy' method.  You could also make this pattern into a table runner, baby quilt or place mats.  I plan on making place mats and a table runner with Christmas fabrics for my dinner table this year.

Welcome

Welcome to my new blog! Please bear with me as I learn how blogging works. I would like to share some of the various needlework and quilting projects I make. Sharing some things in my life and some of my thoughts is how I will use my blog. How did I name my blog The Woolen Cellar? Trying to choose a blog name that has not already been used was difficult. Because my workshop is in the downstairs of my home and because one of my favorites is making things from wool I found a name.
